The Tallest Man On Earth Chords & Tabs

Version: 2 Type: Chords

1904 Chords

I haven't seen any tabs at all for this song so this is the first to register, and
hopefully someone will see this and fine tune it, but just for some basic idea, this is in
Standard Tuning with a Capo on the 5th fret. In the verses, everytime you go from a C to
an Am, do a bassline walk down from the bass note of C to the open bass note of Am

Intro: G, C, Am, D

Verse:

G C
Well some may say it's not even funny
                Am D
And there you stand not even trying
G C
They say it is in line with the ages
           Am D
Sometimes noise is just your mind
          C D
But the lesson is vague and the lightning
          Am D
Shows a deer with her mind on the moor
          G C
And now something with the sun is just different
           Am D G
Since they shook the earth in 1904

         G C
And as I lower down I hear it's a message
(On this particular walkdown, strum hard to emphasize the change)
          Am D
And it's 1902 just telling people to get out
           G C
And if it there was just a way I could tell them
         Am D
It's been long, but you were right
         C D
And the singing is low and so quiet
          Am D
Like the sound when you sweep off the floor
         G C
And now something with the dirt is just different
           Am D G
Since they shook the earth in 1904

Bridge:

             Em
And when the night is young
          Am
But the bridge is up
           C G
Something passing by, I was sure
        E Am
And the only one you can tell it to
              C D
Well it's the only one that'll ever know

Verse:

                G C
And since more robbers made to go through my window
                     Am
Here is something so strange
                          D
And something louder than before
            G C
And you're living with no light or direction
       Am D
But damn precise and now you know
         C D
When the leaving is hard, but you go now
        Am D
And you feel what you drag across the floor
        G C
Because something with these trails are just different
           Am D G
Since they shook the earth in 1904

Bridge:

             Em
And when the night is young
         Am
But the bridge is up
          C G
Something passing by, I was sure
        Em Am
And the only one you will tell it to
              C D
Well it's the only one who'll ever know

Verse:

     G C
And some would say it's not even healthy
            Am D
But body is young and mind is sure
      G C
That something is so right with your thinking
             Am D G
'Cause they shook the earth in 1904
