The Civil Wars - Barton Hollow

I have figured out the main groove of this song by watching how John Paul White played
it live on
Jay Leno (the video is available on YouTube). Based on that I believe the tuning is:

DADGAD (Just drop your E and e strings down to D, drop your B down to A)

The intro is just this chord strummed and allowed to ring out:

e----0----------------0----------------|
B----0----------------0----------------|
G----2----------------2----------------|
D----0----------------0----------------|
A----0----------------0----------------|
E----0----------------0----------------|

The main riff goes something like this:

e----0--0--x-----0-0---0--0--0--0------|
B----0--0--x-----0-0---0--0--0--0------|
G----2--2--x-----2-2---2--2--2--2------| Repeat
D----0--0--x-----0-0---0--0--3--0------|
A----3--0--x-----0-0---3--0--0--0------|
E----0--0--x-----0-0---0--0--0--0------|

For the sake of getting the feel/timing of this, it is worth pointing out that the
repeating should
make it seem like the first two chords are always tacked onto the end of the progression.

Right before the guitar stops for the first chorus (after "...forgive me father"):

e----0-0--0--0-----0-0--0--------------|
B----0-0--0--0-----0-0--0--------------|
G----2-2--2--2-----2-2--2--Let---------|
D----0-0--0--0-----0-0--0--ring--------|
A----0-0--3--0-----0-0--0--------------|
E----0-0--0--0-----0-0--0--------------|

There are a few more little parts like the one above that are just simple
transitional variations - I have not tabbed each one.

Song Notes:

Notice that JPW holds his pointer finger on the 2nd fret of the G string for the whole thing,
just using his middle finger to play the notes on the A and D strings. Pretty simple
once you
get the feel of it. Don't over think it, it's all about the groove.

You can add some style by throwing in some bends on the notes played on the A and D strings.

As I said, this tab is based off of the Jay Leno performance, but they play/sing it nearly
identically to the studio version.

***I am looking for someone to help me figure out the chord shapes for the bridge.
Please post
comments and I will update the tab. Thanks!***
