Hey, I’m Chris Parker, and this is my 7th tab (I think). I’ve been working
on a lot of stuff lately, and I decided I wanted to give this song a go
because it’s such a rad song. Plus, so far every tab I have seen of this
song completely blows, either because it’s incomplete or just plain
incorrect. Any errors you may find in here are purely stylistic. I purposely
do this so that everyone can add their own little kicks, like a good
musician should.
Make sure you check the playing notes at the end for more information on how
to play this awesome song. I’m sorry this is really long for just a 2-3
minute song, but I’m a damn thorough player and I want to encourage that in
“tabbers” today, because a lot of people will just put up either too much
information (like keys that explain notations that aren’t present in the
tab) or not enough (Just a tab, no strategic spacing, etc.). You’ll notice
that I really want you to make this song your own, so don’t hold back.

PLAYING NOTES:
RHYTHM:
For the verses and choruses, play whatever rhythms you like.
INTRO:
Use vibrato to your taste, I do a constant, subtle little warble after the
bends; also, you don’t have to play the bottom note I put in the double
stops, those are just there to round the sound out because I tend to use my
fingers and pick/thumb and don’t worry about sliding into each mini phrase.
Play it how you want!
VERSE:
From what I can tell, the traditional blues shuffle riff is not played in
the verse (you can barely make out the guitar at all, but you can again add
it in for some flavor. I think, regardless how you style it, it should be
palm-muted, or at the very least turn the volume down on your guitar, either
manually with a knob (this may take practice if you’re not used to doing it
quickly and accurately) or by using the pick-up selector if you have the
option to do so (again, this could take practice if you
Looking at the YouTube video, though, you can see he does straight 8th notes
for most of the strumming bits, so I cannot stress enough that you can do
whatever you want with your verse chords stylistically, even adding fills
like this before the chorus, like I do:

CHORUS:
Again, the blues shuffle riff is not in the chorus. You can put it in if
you’d like, but it’s up to you. Personally, I’d rather play it by hitting
the chord as a couple quick 16th notes then letting it hang like a whole
note, then pick up the chord again right before the chord change. It would
probably be good to vary your playing and kind of descending arpeggio
through the chords every once and a while, too. If you were palm muting in
the verse, stop for the chorus. Also, don’t take my sampe rhythm as gospel.
Do whatever, let the chords ring out for a while, etc.
SOLO:
Haha, okay, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I got a couple notes wrong
(particularly in “measures” 7 and 8), but you should get the basic feel from
what I put down. It’s all very “typical” rockabilly/psychobilly soloing
material from bands like Bill Haley and His Comets and Stray Cats. Bonus
points to whomever can tell me what songs specifically! You’d better get
this, Austin…
LYRICS:
Okay, so the only bit that I’m not sure of is the very last line of the
chorus, after the “whoa-oh’s”. That, and the first line of each verse. If
anyone knows the correct lyrics, please let me know so I can make this tab
as complete as possible. The internet brought me nothing, lets hope some
fans do!
OUTRO
It seems kind of pointless to say, but if you can, use that Bigsby
(or whatever type of vibrato arm, I refuse to say whammy bar in this genre
haha) to give that held A chord some flair. Everyone will love you better
for it.
