This is a pretty pathetic attempt at a tab, but I worked out the start of the verse to Laura Marling's Ghosts. It's basically two chords: E and a second chord we'll call E* E : 022100 E*: 002100 The switch between these two chords lasts for the intro and the lines: "He walked down a busy street/ staring solely at his feet/ clutching pictures of past lovers at his side/ stood at the table where she sat/ and removed his hat/ in respect of her presence" and the corresponding lines from other verses. The little riff between these two chords goes like this: [ Tab from: http://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/l/laura_marling/ghosts_ver_2_tab.html ] E)---------------------------------------------------------- B)---------------------------------------------------------- G)-----------------------------------------2---------------- D)-------2---2---2---2---2---2---2---2---2---2-------2---2-- A)-----2---2---2---2---0---0---0---0---2-------2---0---0---0 E)---------------------------------------------------------- And this goes at the start, before the singing begins. Once the singing starts, just do the notes on the A and D strings, without going onto G. The riff should be fingerpicked, using the thumb for the A string and index and middle for D and G respectively. Try to make it as fast as possible. Happy hunting! Lemonfringe x
