Bobby Long Chords & Tabs

Version: 1 Type: Chords

A Winter Tale Chords

I love this song. Reminds me of Neil Young circa After the Gold Rush. The song is in
Bm. Bobby plays it with the capo on II, so I am using those chords. Man, I tried hard
to listen and watch him play. But I know there are some mistakes, so lemme know. As
usual the formatting nails me!

Intro: vamp it in Am

       C G
I'm pale I've brought it back to Winter Tale
                         Am
So spare the ghosts around my neck
                        F
The winds against the sails
       C G
I'm shivering up a storm of roadside pines, a
                       Am
Thirst shreds the ballast cold
                       F
And shows the olden times

Am

         C G
I'm bold and sorrow thrown into the day
                        Am F
Into the barrels of the sun I turned and found a way
         C G
The naked branches cut the empty air
                        Am
The river birds have fled away
                         F
From all their wear and tear

Am

Am Em G (for each line)
The covered surface hugs the board but keeps in the sky
A childhood glimpse that keeps you warm but hangs you to dry
The shameful dream the shameful face that pulls on your heart
Those brittle winds will keep the dawn from you at the start

      C G Am G F
So bring me choirs to ease me on my way
     C G Am F G
So bring me screams of organs for the day
      C G Am G F
So bring me choirs to brighten all the gales
         C G Am F G
So bring me screams of organs and the wails
          Am
Of winter tales

I heard a lonely voice cut through the rain
"So take away my conscious mind and take away my fame,"
To embrace the day to cut through my only soul
I'd starch my love of all its parts
To the blackness of burnt coal.
