You're missing an important chord: periodically throughout the song, they go to the II chord (e.g. change
from the I chord to the II chord on "...Rodeo..." in the first verse, etc.)
|
I do this song as a solo act, and I've found that using the II7 instead of the II fills out the sound better
(e.g. D7 instead of D major). Further, as you strum the " cowboy" chords, embellish them with tasty hammer-
ons & pull-offs. Great job!

This is the closest that Ive found to the original, however, I'd like to suggest that you change the
chorking to: Em-C-slide up to a D with the C shape, repeat and then hammer/pull D,E,D on the D-string, to
D/F#, the same hammer/pull, Em, B7.
I tried for 15 years to learn this song correctly, and this is the very best I've heard. It also works
as a solo accoustic tune.

Great tab! However, try adding a G chord in the verse, making it a IV,V,vi progression in C. I think it
works well that way.

This IS a great song and verrrrrrry easy to play, however, with a little bit of tweaking you can really
make it shine:
for example: don't just stick with the strict I-IV-V format, add some flavor with sus2,aug, maj7,
add9, and m7or9 chords. If you arpeggiate them you can really make the break come to life and add a neww
color for your audience's ears.
