sorry man but you got this all wrong...

its 

A to C (on the fifth and fourth string {EADGBe = 654321})

strum the A down twice then the C down twice
strum the A up twice then the C down twice

THEN the F (strummed in the same pattern as above)
----- THAT COMPLETES ONE BAR

on the THIRD bar play a G before the F 
and finish with 

strum the A down twice then the C down twice
strum the A up twice then the C down twice
strum the A down twice then the C down twice
strum the A up twice then the C down twice

that is the full measure repeat then move to the chorus.

C to A# to F then (strum in fashion of the song)
