Subject: TAB:"Tonight" by Violent Femmes

My arrangement of the guitar portion of "Tonight" can be played by
anyone who knows how to move a barre chord up and down the neck. It might be
incorrect but it doesn't sound like it is. If you disagree, or if you have
other questions, comments or additions, write me at meunier.1@osu.edu

                       "Tonight"(Gordon Gano)

Play this riff as freely as possible. Just strum it to the rhythm of
the song and it should sound alright. The timing can be best determined by
listening to the music but a good guideline to follow is to start the riff
when Gordon says "Tonight..." and start it again when he says "get" as in
"get high," "get laid,"etc. It's really not that hard to understand if
you're listening to the music.

fill 1-

   B-----------------------------------7-7-7-7---------|
   G-----------------------------------7-7-7-7---------|
   D---------------------------------------------------|
   A---------------------------------------------------|
   E---------------------------------------------------|
(For the next two verses, use a similar pattern).

For the next two verses, it sounds like everything is moved up one fret,
making a G#5-C#5-D#5 progression:
   substituted chords-
      G#5 C#5 D#5
   E---------------------|
   B---------------------|
   G----------6------8---|
   D---6------6------8---|
   A---6------4------6---|
   E---4-----------------|

(continue same pattern as in third verse)
Tonight I want to get high(2x)
Tonight I want to get high high high
   I don't care if I live(fill 2)
   fill2-
   E-----------------|
   B------9---9------|
   G------9---9------|
   D------9---9------|
   A-----------------|
   E-----------------|

   Tonight!(3x(same verse riff))

The last chord just sounds like an A. Correct me if I'm wrong.
