This is my first transcription, but i practically learned to play the guitar through transcriptions like these, so I think I can handle it. I gave the solo my best effort, and I think it is mostly right, but if there are any corrections, please let me know. chords (I pretty much used mostly regular major chords, sometimes converted into power chords) G 355433 B 799877 or -244-- E 022100 D -577-- D# -688-- C -355-- A# 688766 intro/verse riff G - B - E D - C - B (after this, there is a 3-chord slide up, something like C-D-E) E - D - C C/B (this is a slide down to B before starting next progression) G - B - E solo --------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------- -----9--11--12--11--9--11p9--9--11--9----------------------6~-- --9------------------------------------9----5/7--9p7p5--8------ --------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------10p8--10-------10p8--12p10----- --------------/10-----------/10-----------/12------------/12---------------12- --7--7--6--4-------9--9--9-------9--9--9-------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------/\----------10--------------------------/10----------- --12--11--10--9------10--12------12---------------------------10------- --12--11--10--9----------------------------5~--3~--2~------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- the chords played during the bridge underneath the solo are a slight change from the verse riff, altered to fit the solo. I'm not exactly sure what the chord progression is, but just fool around with the verse and change it to fit the main notes of the solo and it should sound all right. here is the progression of the song intro/verse chorus verse chorus bridge + solo chorus ============================================================================================================== [ Tab from: http://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/s/stone_temple_pilots/a_song_for_sleeping_tab.html ] Stone Temple Pilots ”Sour Girl” Tabs: Song: "Sour Girl" Band: Stone Temple Pilots Album: No. 4 Tabbed by: Zack Email: Serpaco007@aol.com Date: 5/20/00 This TAB should be pretty darn close. I saw STP perform this song on Leno the other night so it's quite accurate. The first chorus is the close to actual chords Dean Deleo uses. I think he changes up the order, so feel free to interchange the chord shapes how you like. The second chorus is an easier version. It's what I played before I saw them perform it on Leno. Sorry, no rhythm is implied here. Use your imagination. The actual guitar part is much more complex and may even involve alternate tunings. My version is based for an acoustic guitar (i.e. those camping trips) as I have tried to include base notes which may or may not be actually played by Dean. If you are looking for the note for note version of this song - buy the book!!!!! P.S. If your fingers are squeeky clean - then so too will your song be as there is along of fingertip sliding.
