Im My Own Grandpa Chords

I’m My Own Grandpa (CAPO 2nd Fret)

This is a really cool way to play this song.
This is the way my father
(who is still married to my own mother making me my own self)
allways played it for me as a kid with one chorus at the end
so your audience follows you through to finish with the grandpa line
-allways a favorite. This is posted for Jack.

C G7
Now, many many years ago when I was 23
                                   C C7
I was married to a widow who was pretty as can be
F Fm C A7
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red
D G
My father fell in love with her and soon they too were wed

This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life
My daughter was my mother cause she was my fathers wife
To complicate the matter even though it brought be joy
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy

My little baby then became a brother in law to Dad
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad
For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother
Of the widows grown up daughter who was also my stepmother

G
(pause for effect..........
I mean give the audience a break that is a lot to soak up!)

Fathers wife then had a son who kept them on the run
And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughters son
My wife is now my mothers mother and it makes me blue
Because altho' she is my wife, shes my grandmother too

Now if my wife is my grandmother, then Im her grandchild
And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild
For now I have become the strangest case I ever saw
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa

C G C C7
 I'm my own grandpa,
F C
I'm my own grandpa.
F Fm C A7
It sounds silly, I know, but it really is so, oh
C G7 C
I'm my own grandpa.

Thanks Pa,
