If you've ever questioned beliefs that you hold you're not alone
    F# B
But you oughta realize that every religion is a methaphor
D# C# B D# C# B
In the case of Christianity and Judaism there exists the belief
     D# C# B
That spiritual matters are enslaved to history
    F# B
The Buddhists believe that the functional aspects override the myth
      F# B
While other religions use the literal core to build foundations with
D# C# B
See half the world sees the myth as fact
         D# C# B
And it's seen as a lie by the other half and
D# C# B
The simple truth is that it's none of that cause
D# B
Somehow no matter what the world keeps turning
F# C#
Somehow we get by without ever learning
D# B
Somehow no matter what the world keeps turning
F# C#
Somehow we get by without ever learning
D# F# B C#
Science and religion are not mutually exclusive
D# F#
   In fact for better understanding
            B C#
We take the facts of science and apply them
D# F# B C#
And as both factors keep evolving then we continue getting information
D# F# B C#
But closing off possibilities makes it hard to see the bigger picture
   F# B
Consider the case of the woman whose faith helped her make it through
             F#
When she was raped and cut up, left for dead in a trunk,
          B
But her beliefs held true
D# C# B
It doesn't matter if it's real or not
      D# C# B
Cause some things are better left without a doubt and
D# C# B
If it works and it gets the job done...
D# B
Somehow no matter what the world keeps turning
F# C#
Somehow we get by without ever learning
D# B
Somehow no matter what the world keeps turning
