Ok well if u have been playing long, the you have probably herd of Yngwie Malmsteen. Now if u dont know who he is, 1 word, GOD. Yes yngwie is probably one of the best guitarists in history. Now his style is inspired by 80 percent classicaly, by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven etc. But u dont have to dedicate your life to learning Bach chops until your fingers bleed, i have found a better way and of coarse its a scale, Harmonic Minor. Here is an example of the F Harmonic Minor, once u play it u can hear right away the classical sound of it, well enought of my jabbering, here it is.

E------------------------------------------3-4-6-----------------------------
B----------------------------------2-5-6-------------------------------------
G--------------------------1-3-5---------------------------------------------
D------------------2-3-5-----------------------------------------------------
A----------1-3-4-------------------------------------------------------------
E--1-3-4---------------------------------------------------------------------

Now dont limit yourself to just these frets, try playing them in different keys and different modes, i have also came up with a little etude using just this scale, tell me what u think about it, here it is.

E-------------------------------------------------6-4-3------------------------
B---------------------------------------------------------6-5-2----------------
G-----------------------------------------------------------------1-3-5--------
D-3-----3------3--------------3------3----------------------------------2-3-5
A-3-----3------3--------1-3-4-3------3--------------------------------------
E-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-3-4---------1-1-1-1-1-1------------------------------------

you can end it on the F chord if u choose to, but i like to play an F major arpeggio sweep to end it . Ok thanks for reading.

Hey Guys, thanks a ton for reading my first scale exercise. well now that i'm ready to type my second scale, i was just thinking maybe u guys are ready for some seriouse chops. After the scale exercise i will type a pattern that is very classicaly influenced and used by yngwie in Fire and ice. Now this first scale pattern is F Harmonic Minor, and Position, the first thing i typed at the very top is Position 1. here it is, remember start out slow and build up speed, try playing both of the scale exercises, switching off every two times, and what works great is playing the scales up and then down so arpeggio style. 1 more thing, if u have a metronome, USE IT!

E-----------------------------------------4-6-8------------------------------
B---------------------------------5-6-8--------------------------------------
G-------------------------3-5-6----------------------------------------------
D-----------------3-5-6------------------------------------------------------
A---------3-4-7--------------------------------------------------------------
E-3-4-6----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well here it is, preatty similar sounding, again dont limit yourself to these frets expand your knowledge young grasshopper, haha **** karate kid haha, sorry. anyways as promised here is a little scale piece from Fire and Ice.
