{title:The Outlaw, by Larry Norman}

INTRO:	G  G/C  G  G/C  G  G/C  G  G/C

Some [G]say He was an [G/C]outlaw, that He roamed across the [G]land
With a [D]band of unschooled ruffians and a [C]few old fishermen
No one [G]knew just where He [G/C]came from or exactly what He'd
[G]done
But they [D]said it must be something bad that [F]kept Him on the
[C]run.[G]   [G/C]     [G]   [G/C]

Some [G]say He was a [G/C]poet that He'd stand upon the [G]hill
And his [D]voice could calm an angry crowd or [C]make the waves stand
still
That He [G]spoke in many [G/C]parables that few could under-[G]stand
But the [D]people sat for hours just to [F]listen to this [C]man.[G]
 [G/C]     [G]   [G/C]

Some [G]say He was a [G/C]sorcerer a man of myste-[G]ry
He could [D]walk upon the water. He could [C]make a blind man see.
That He [G]conjured wine at [G/C]weddings and did tricks with fish
and [G]bread.
That He [D]talked of being born again and raised [F]people from the
[C]dead.[G]   [G/C]     [G]   [G/C]

1ST BREAK:  G G/C G G/C D C G G/C G G/C D F C G

Some [G]say a poli-[G/C]tician who spoke of being [G]free
He was [D]followed by the masses on the [C]shores of Galilee
He spoke [G]out against corrup-[G/C]tion and He bowed to no de-
[G]cree
And they [D]feared His strength and power so they [F]nailed Him to a
[C]tree.[G]   [G/C]

2ND BREAK:  C6 D7 Em6 C G6 Em Am Am6 G

Some [G]say He was the [G/C]Son of God a man above all [G]men
But He [D]came to be a servant and to [C]set us free from sin
And [G]that's who I be-[G/C]lieve He was 'cause that's who I be-
[G]lieve
And I [D]think we should get ready 'cause it's [F]time for us to
[C]leave.[G]

ENDING:  C6 D7 Em6 C G6 Em Am Am6 G

{comment:The Outlaw, by Larry Norman, from "Only Visiting this
Planet"}
{comment:The G/C sounds better in this song than just C. If you make
your G with your pinkie,}
{comment:ring and middle fingers, you can easily change to G/C by
fretting your index finger}
{comment:on the 2nd string/1st fret, and then moving your middle
finger from the 5th string}
{comment:to the 4th string/2nd fret. Your ring finger will muff the
5th string.}
{comment:If you don't want to fool with the G/C, you can use C.}

Fingerstyle:

{comment:Just hold the chord shown and pluck the stings by number.
The strings are numbered}
{comment:1 to 6. String 1 is the high E string. It is the thinnest
string,  on the bottom}
{comment: as you hold the guitar. Strings count up from there, 2 3 4
5 ... The 6th string}
{comment:is the low (deepest sound) E string. It is the thickest
string, on the top as you }
{comment:hold the guitar. You will have to figure out which fingers
you like to use for }
{comment:each string. I tend to use my ring finger for the 1st sting,
 middle finger for the 2nd,}
{comment:index finger for 3rd string, and my thumb for the 4th, 5th
and 6th strings.}
