many people have tabbed this song incorrectly and i'm %100 sure this is the right way
you'll need a capeo on the first fret and then play as follows.

e------------------------------------------
B------------------------------------------
G------------------------------------------
D-6-6-**-6-6-6-6-6-6-**---------------------------------
A-6-6-**-6-6-6-6-6-6-**---------------------------------
E-4-4-**-4-4-1-1-4-4-**---------------------------------

[ Tab from: http://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/e/everclear/santa_monica_tab.html ]
just get the beat down and it's not that hard to follow, then it hits...

e----------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------
G-8-8--**--8--10---6-6--*--8-----------------------
D-8-8--**--8--10---6-6--*--8-----------------------
A-6-6--**--6--8----4-4--*--6-----------------------
E-*-*--**--*--*----*-*--*--*-----------------------

then it goes back to the top. this is my first tab so if it's pretty sketchy (and i'm sure it is)
i apologize but other than that enjoy. this is a really good song by a really good band.

this is really, really off. for one, why would you even bother capoing this and putting it in a harder key
to play? you're playing a real A (G# relative to the capo), so why not just play it with no capo and 5-7-
7? that wouldn't even be right, but at least it would make sense. unless you're not bothering to recognize
the capo as the open 0 in the tab, and rather are saying the real frets with nothing being relative...which
i'm not sure why anyone would do...but in that case, you'd just be playing the song as everyone else has
tabbed it, but rather up a half-step. this would not sound good when playing along with the actual song,
unless your guitar is tuned down a half-step to begin with. is your guitar down a half?
